Transformacija koordinata između Gaus-Krigerove i Svetske poprečne Merkatorove projekcije za teritoriju Srbije / Procedure and formulas for coordinate transformations between the Gauss-Krüger projections and the Universal Transverse Mercator projections for Serbia

Lateral Carbon Transport Induced by Watershed Erosion: Driving Effects of Land Use, Rainfall, and Landscape Controls

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lateral carbon transport induced by soil erosion is a key component of the global carbon cycle. Over the past 50 years, ecological restoration projects in the Loess Plateau of China have increased vegetation coverage. However, the effects of land use, precipitation variability, and landscape factors on lateral carbon transport remain unclear ...

From static to dynamic datums: 150 years of geodetic datums in New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, 2016
ABSTRACT The geodetic system in New Zealand plays an important role in the development of our country. It comprises intellectual, physical and data components which provide authoritative coordinate systems for New Zealand's areas of territorial and administrative responsibility.

Automating Archaeological Discovery: Assessing Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) Tools for Stone Wall Identification in Kweneng, South Africa

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The discovery of archaeological sites traditionally entails the utilisation of physically demanding exploration methodologies, including terrain surveying and the analysis of historical records. Recent technological developments have led to an increased use of non‐invasive remote sensing techniques, including Google Earth, LiDAR and aerial ...

A Review of Geodetic Datums of Nepal and Transformation Parameters for WGS84 to Geodetic Datum of Nepal

open access: yesJournal on Geoinformatics, Nepal, 2017
In Nepal there exist different coordinate systems based on different geodetic datum. The existence of these datum and coordinate systems are poorly known. In this literature the geodetic datum that is in existence in one way or other are illustrated and discussed.

Distribution models of polysphinctine parasitoid wasps (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) reveal sampling bias and flag potentially overlooked host interactions

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, EarlyView.
We quantified the geographical overlap between parasitoid wasps and their known host spiders. We could assess which parasitoid species have more limited information about their interactions and are subject to geographical survey bias. We generated sampling bias maps to assist other researchers in identifying where the main sampling gaps are.

Some key facts for the realization of a modern National Geodetic Reference System/Frame: The Hellenic case [PDF]

open access: yesMicro, Macro & Mezzo Geoinformation
The realization of a modern National Geodetic Reference System/Frame (NGRSF) for each country plays a crucial role in many applications, such as cadastre, public works, and, lately, the monitoring of climate change (at least at the local scale).

The Importance of the Coordinate Transformation Process in Using Heterogeneous Data in Coastal and Marine Geographic Information System

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2020
Coastal and Marine Geographic Information Systems (CMGISs) permit to collect, manage, and analyze a great amount of heterogeneous data concerning coastal, sea, and ocean environments, e.g., nautical charts, topographic maps, remotely sensed images.
