On the connection of the Ecuadorian Vertical Datum to the IHRS

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2023
In this work, the determination of the discrepancy between the Ecuadorian Vertical Datum (EVD) and the International Height Reference System (IHRS) is presented.

Vertical datum transformation grids for Mexico. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Data, 2020
AbstractMexico has used two vertical datums—the U.S. National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29) and the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Because Mexico started using the NAVD88 as its vertical datum in 2015, most of Mexico’s data is referenced to the NGVD29 and recent high resolution data are referenced to the NAVD88.

Estimation of vertical datum offset for the South African vertical datum, in relation to the international height reference system [PDF]

open access: yesGeodetski Vestnik, 2021
The vertical offset and the geopotential value over South Africa is estimated on the four fundamental benchmarks in relation to the international height reference system (IHRS).

Preliminary Unification of Kronsztadt86 Local Vertical Datum with Global Vertical Datum [PDF]

open access: yesReports on Geodesy and Geoinformatics, 2015
The study concerns computation of the gravity potential difference between the Kronsztadt86 datum and the global vertical datum. This method is based on the use of ellipsoidal heights from satellite observations, normal heights obtained from the ...

Analysis of a Relative Offset between the North American and the Global Vertical Datum in Gravity Potential Space

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
The accurate estimation of the zero-height geopotential level in a local vertical datum (LVD) is critical for linking traditional height reference systems to a global height system.

On the Definition and Realization of a Global Vertical Datum

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2011
A Global Vertical Datum (GVD) is naturally defined by the geoid, and there is a well-established consensus to adopt Gauss-Bessel-Listing's definition of the geoid (i.e. as being the level surface of the Earth's gravity field that best fits the undisturbed sea level).

GPS, su datum vertical.

open access: yesUniciencia, 2004
La introducción de la metodología GPS en aplicaciones topográficas y geodésicas pone en notoria evidencia la clásica separación de sistemas de referencia en horizontal y vertical.

Elevation uncertainties in the Mekong Delta quantified using a transferable approach [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
The elevation of coastal lowlands relative to local sea level is a crucial determinant for their exposure and is key input for coastal hazard and relative sea-level rise impact assessments.

Absolute vertical motion of the Amsterdam Ordnance Datum (NAP) [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences, 2020
The backbone of the Amsterdam Ordnance Datum (NAP) is a network of about 400 primary subsurface markers. Relative movements between the primary subsurface markers are measured with spirit levelling once in 10–20 years.

How Significant is the Dynamic Component of the North American Vertical Datum?

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2012
One of the main current geodetic activities in North America is the definition and establishment of a geoid-based vertical datum that will replace the official CGVD28 and NAVD88 datums in Canada and the USA, respectively.
