Determination of geopotential of local vertical datum surface

open access: yesGeo-Spatial Information Science, 2003
This paper first develops the approaches to determine the geopotential of the local mean sea level, and then investigates the offset of the 1985 vertical datum surface defined by the mean sea level of Yellow Sea at the Dagang Tide Gauge in Qingdao city using the developed approaches and GPS/leveling data.

Application of 3D scanning technology in Royal Malaysian Air Force Industrial Revolution 4.0‐based aircraft maintenance

open access: yesIET Networks, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract 3D scanning is rapidly becoming a key maintenance tool. Aerospace was a pioneer in adopting 3D scanning technology because aircraft manufacture and maintenance require precision. Monitoring deterioration, removing components for maintenance, and verifying covert operations are not practical or helpful without technology.

Vertical datum and coordinate systems in Jordan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information Technology, Communications and Convergence, 2011
Advancement in satellites and telecommunication technologies has created a great interest in global positioning system (GPS) applications. The lack of a good geoid model for Jordan has limited the use of GPS applications. This has lead to refining the Jordanian geoid model for better GPS measurements in order to obtain reliable results in the triplet ...
