Optimizing Geoelectrical Arrays for Special Geoelectrical Monitoring Instruments

Proceedings, 2016
In this work we adopted an array optimization scheme for a special geoelectrical monitoring instrument for which no standard geoelectrical arrays exists. Optimized measurements are selected on the basis of their Jacobian matrix values. Application is demonstrated though model and real examples from a landslide site in Austria. Synthetic and real tests

Geoelectric Effect and Geotropic Curvature

Science, 1965
A transverse electrical potential develops in many plant organs after they are reoriented from a vertical to a horizontal position. This phenomenon has been the basis for both a geoelectric hypothesis of geotropic curvature and its subsequent refutation. In both arguments a causal relation between the potential and curvature has been assumed. Curvature

Geomagnetic and geoelectric variations

Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1955
Abstract The geomagnetic variations and their relation to earth-currents have been investigated, especially the pulsations with periods of 10 to 102 seconds. A worldwide survey of a few examples of pulsations (selected from the IATME Bulletins and the quarterly De Bilt reports) indicates that the source of the phenomenon may be the ionospheric ...

Geoelectrical anomaly patterns of reservoir and geoelectrical methods for direct reservoir detection

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2007, 2007
Summary The paper presents some geo-electrical methods for reservoir boundary mapping including spectral induced polarization (SIP), time-frequency electromagnetic (TFEM) and borehole surface EM. These methods are newly improved in China. They show powerful exploration ability and certain resolution on the detection of oil reservoir and the prediction ...

Experiences of 2-D Geoelectrical Imaging

1st EEGS Meeting, 1995
Over the past three years we have carried out several two-dimensional (2-D) electrical imaging in order to verify the reliability of this technology in different environmental and geological conditions. The 2-D resistivity imaging method is in wide use and successfully employed for detecting pollutants diffusion, in groundwater monitoring, in buried ...

Geoelectric Discontinuity Detector

1973 IEEE G-MTT International Microwave Symposium, 1973
It is sometimes necessary to quickly localize a mine bed within an accuracy of a few cm. in depth. Such high accuracy measurements are made by chemical or physiochemical methods. These methods have the disadvantage of requiring a few hours of time due to the necessity of measuring the metallic content of the ore in the laboratory rather than in situ ...
