A Physics‐Informed Neural Network for Retrieving the Continuous Soil Particle Size Distribution From Vis–NIR Spectra

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, Volume 77, Issue 1, January–February 2026.
ABSTRACT Estimating the soil particle size distribution (PSD) from visible–near infrared (vis–NIR) reflectance spectra is conventionally limited to predicting discrete soil fractions (e.g., sand, silt, and clay). This approach presents significant challenges: it requires the harmonization of data from different classification systems and, by reducing ...

A Novel Self‐Supervised Deep Learning Inversion Method Incorporating a Fast Forward Network for Transient Electromagnetic Data

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 2, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Deep learning (DL) is an increasingly popular method for inverting the transient electromagnetic (TEM) data. Currently, DL‐based inversion for TEM data primarily employs supervised learning methods that rely on labeled data sets to train the network.

Seismic reflection and topography insights into Ries crater diameter and megablock zone

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 60, Issue 12, Page 2891-2912, December 2025.
Abstract Most of the extensive crater‐wide geophysical studies at the Ries impact structure were made decades ago when the origin of the structure was still being debated. Although it is one of the most studied impact structures, its internal structure was not imaged in high resolution until recently.

Geoelectric monitoring at the Boulder magnetic observatory [PDF]

open access: yesGeoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems, 2017
Despite its importance to a range of applied and fundamental studies, and obvious parallels to a robust network of magnetic-field observatories, long-term geoelectric field monitoring is rarely performed.

Optimizing Panning Operating Parameters for Alluvial Gold Processing: The Case of the Wakaso Panning Plant

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2025.
The best configuration corresponding to the optimal rate of site handmade panning of gold gravel is obtain by using experimental plan and machine learning. The optimization of alluvial gold yield by genetic algorithms showed that the best configuration of 86.217% at a 10° slope and a 5 tr/min rotation speed.
