Corals and Reef‐Dwelling Fish Regulate Carbon Storage and Cycling Processes in Coral Reef Ecosystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coral reefs are biodiversity hotspots, yet their role in carbon storage and cycling remains poorly understood. Using field surveys and modeling in the South China Sea, we reveal the overlooked potential of carbon storage in reef ecosystems and how reef fish, corals, and surface sediment jointly shape reef carbon reservoirs.

Geographically weighted regression random forest for modeling soil particles

open access: yesJournal of Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences
Clay particles play a vital role in determining soil quality, particularly in the fields of agriculture and conservation. However, the complex and non-linear spatial distribution of clay particles is difficult to capture using conventional modeling ...

Regional convergence in Germany: A geographically weighted regression approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The convergence of German regions represents a politically explosive question. Different studies examined convergence processes of Germany. We derive equations to estimate the convergence speed on basis of a Solow model, to which human capital is added ...

BayesX: Analysing Bayesian structured additive regression models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
There has been much recent interest in Bayesian inference for generalized additive and related models. The increasing popularity of Bayesian methods for these and other model classes is mainly caused by the introduction of Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC)

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

PEMODELAN DATA PDRB, PENGANGGURAN, DAN AMH TERHADAP KEMISKINAN DI PROVINSI JAWA BARAT DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MIXED GEOGRAPHICALLY WEIGHTED REGRESSION (MGWR) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015

Computational improvements to multi-scale geographically weighted regression

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geographical Information Science, 2019
Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) has been broadly used in various fields to model spatially non-stationary relationships. Multi-scale Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) is a recent advancement to the classic GWR model. MGWR is superior in capturing multi-scale processes over the traditional single-scale GWR model by using different ...

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges in predicting treatment responses and understanding resistance mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful solutions for cancer immunotherapy in patient stratification, biomarker discovery, treatment strategy optimization, and foundation model development.

Regional Convergence in Germany. A Geographically Weighted Regression Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
Regional convergence of German labour markets represents a politically important question. Different studies have examined convergence processes in Germany. We derive equations to estimate the speed of convergence on the basis of an extended Solow model.

Method of the Geographically Weighted Regression and an Example for its Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This research is concerned with a statistical method that has recently become widespread in the international literature; although, it is still limited in Hungarian research. The method is geographically weighted regression (GWR), which is demonstrated
