Height transformation using regional geoids and GPS/levelling in Turkey
Survey Review, 2008Abstract Transformation of ellipsoidal heights derived from the Global Positioning System (GPS) to orthometric heights using geoid models is investigated in the north and west parts of Turkey. Although the transformation depends on a simple relation between ellipsoidal h, orthometric H and geoid N heights, the accuracy of the resulting orthometric ...

Data requirements for determining precise relative geoid heights from gravimetry
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 1986Global Positioning System (GPS)‐based receivers appear capable of obtaining Δh, the ellipsoidal height differences, to about 2–4 ppm of the distance separating the end points. The historical record of vertical crustal motion has been obtained from spirit leveling and therefore gives changes in elevation in terms of orthometric height.

Prospects for the Australian Height Datum and Geoid Model
2002The integrity of the Australian Height Datum (AHD) has remained in some question ever since its adoption in 1971. Indeed, its creators commented that using 30 tide gauges ‘placed a strain’ on the least-squares network adjustment of the —97,230 km of spirit levelling used to realise the AHD.

Construction of geoid and quasi-geoid height maps and their comparison on the territory of europe
Ukrainian Journal of Applied Economics and TechnologyThe article describes the issue of reference surfaces used in height systems across European countries. Although the unified European Vertical Reference System EVRS2019 is currently adopted across Europe, many countries continue to use their national height systems actively.

Combined Adjustment of GPS Observations and Geoid Heights in Japan
1997A technique of combined adjustment of GPS and terrestrial observations is developed by using a local geoid model JGEOID93 (Kuroishi 1995 and 1996) as stochastic observations to reconcile the two different coordinate systems between GPS and terrestrial surveys.

Geoid heights and lithospheric stresses for a dynamic Earth
1984Mass heterogeneities in the Earth's crust and mantle are known to exist at all depths and for a large range of wavelengths characteristic of their lateral extent. They are the sources of measurable quantities like topography, tectonic stresses and the geoid.

Effect of topographic mass influence on geoid heights for global geoid models in Akure, Nigeria
FUTY Journal of the EnvironmentThis study investigates the influence of topographic masses on geoid heights computed using three Global Geoid Models. The lat/long coordinates of 59 stations were determined. Three high-resolution Global Geoid Models (EGM2008, XGM2019e_2159, and SGG-UGM-2) were employed. Geoid heights were computed for selected control points within the study area for
