Quaternary Geological Phenomena in Labuhan Area, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province [PDF]

open access: yesIndonesian Journal on Geoscience, 2012
DOI: 10.17014/ijog.v7i4.148Geological features in Labuhan area were studied from the middle of October to the middle of November 2011 covering seventy days. Surface and subsurface data were obtained from interpretation of landsat images and shallow hand-auger boreholes. The geological features are distinctly associated with active tectonics.

The hypothesis about the influence of electrical phenomena on geological processes and global disasters [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Global Warming is officially recognized as one of the aspects to the Earth’s climate change; and its major factor is a sharp anthropogenic increase in concentration of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide (CO2). However many scientists do not agree with this view and do not consider the anthropogenic factor as its basic reason, thus regarding ...

Investigating The Phenomena Of Geological Terms And Their Translation Problems In Linguistics

open access: yesThe American Journal of Social Science and Education Innovations, 2020
The terminology of a particular field of science or technology is highly specialized structure. At each historical stage in the development of geology, the number of lexical units of geological terminology is commensurate with the mass of acquired knowledge.

On the phenomena and geological teaching of the recent Great Flood in the Devon Valley [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the Edinburgh Geological Society, 1879
The phenomena of the Flood in the Devon Valley of the 28th of August last year (1877) appear to me to be so pregnant with suggestions of geological import, that I have presumed to place a description of the flood before you, with some remarks on the relation of the flood phenomena to certain deposits in the Valley of the Devon.

The Influence of Temperature Gradient on the Convective Mixing Phenomena of Geologic Sequestration of CO2

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
AbstractGeological sequestration of CO2 as an effective measure of greenhouse gas emission reduction has seized the attention of many governments and scientists. But few studies concern the effect of temperature field on the CO2 convective mixing process. In fact, the temperature gradient almost exists anywhere in the underground, especially the saline

Nonlinear phenomena at geological reaction fronts with energy applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Interaction of aqueous fluids with the rock matrix within which they reside can yield a variety of phenomena due to the coupling of reaction transport and mechanical processes; many of these have potentially important implications for exploration and exploitation of energy and mineral resources.

GROUNDWATER DISCHARGE: A COMMON GENERATOR OF DIVERSE GEOLOGIC AND MORPHOLOGIC PHENOMENA [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Association of Scientific Hydrology. Bulletin, 1971
Abstract Four natural conditions co-exist inherently with the hydraulic discharge of groundwater: positive gradient of the fluid potential, low relative topographic position, allochthonous water quality, and allochthonous water temperature. In turn, these conditions are consistently associated with springs, seepages, quicksand, soap holes, geysers ...
