Elastic Curves and Euler–Bernoulli Constrained Beams from the Perspective of Geometric Algebra

open access: yesMathematics
Elasticity is a well-established field within mathematical physics, yet new formulations can provide deeper insight and computational advantages. This study explores the geometry of two- and three-dimensional elastic curves using the formalism of ...

On the spectral norms of some circulant matrices with the trigonometric functions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
In this paper, we use the properties of an r-circulant matrix and a geometric circulant matrix to study the spectral norms of the r-circulant matrix and the geometric circulant matrix involving trigonometric functions by some algebra methods.

Noncommutative version of Borcherds' approach to quantum field theory

open access: yes, 2014
Richard Borcherds proposed an elegant geometric version of renormalized perturbative quantum field theory in curved spacetimes, where Lagrangians are sections of a Hopf algebra bundle over a smooth manifold.

Bayesian inverse ensemble forecasting for COVID‐19

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Variations in strains of COVID‐19 have a significant impact on the rate of surges and on the accuracy of forecasts of the epidemic dynamics. The primary goal for this article is to quantify the effects of varying strains of COVID‐19 on ensemble forecasts of individual “surges.” By modelling the disease dynamics with an SIR model, we solve the ...

Geometric Algebra Transformer

open access: yes, 2023
Problems involving geometric data arise in physics, chemistry, robotics, computer vision, and many other fields. Such data can take numerous forms, for instance points, direction vectors, translations, or rotations, but to date there is no single architecture that can be applied to such a wide variety of geometric types while respecting their ...

Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

Invariant Measure and Universality of the 2D Yang–Mills Langevin Dynamic

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We prove that the Yang–Mills (YM) measure for the trivial principal bundle over the two‐dimensional torus, with any connected, compact structure group, is invariant for the associated renormalised Langevin dynamic. Our argument relies on a combination of regularity structures, lattice gauge‐fixing and Bourgain's method for invariant measures ...

Geometric power theory in the frequency domain for non-sinusoidal and unbalanced multiphase AC systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
This research paper introduces a new method for power definitions in multiphase AC systems in the frequency domain with a unique geometric approach. Grounded on the Geometric Algebra (GA) framework, this research represents harmonic voltages and currents

Stability of Viscous Three‐Dimensional Stratified Couette Flow via Dispersion and Mixing

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article explores the stability of stratified Couette flow in the viscous 3d$3d$ Boussinesq equations. In this system, mixing effects arise from the shearing background, and gravity acts as a restoring force leading to dispersive internal gravity waves.

A Recipe for Symbolic Geometric Computing: Long Geometric Product, BREEFS and Clifford Factorization

open access: yes, 2006
In symbolic computing, a major bottleneck is middle expression swell. Symbolic geometric computing based on invariant algebras can alleviate this difficulty.
