HDOP and VDOP Analysis in an Ideal Placement Environment for Dual GNSSs
Increasing the number of satellites in a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) improves the positioning accuracy and increases availability. However, it reduces the positioning accuracy improvement rate and increases the calculation loads, which can ...

Multi-Objective Design of a Lunar GNSS
The success of future lunar missions depends on quality positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) information. Earthbound GNSS signals can be received at lunar distances but suffer from poor geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) and provide no coverage ...

Application of the SBAS/EGNOS positioning method to determine UAV coordinates [PDF]
: The article presents the results of research on determining the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) position using the SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System) positioning method for the EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) support ...

Based on the time difference direction‐finding algorithm, new mathematical expressions of geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) are presented in Time Difference of Arrival positioning systems in this paper. The time difference direction‐finding reveals that the angle measurements are accurate for any length of baseline.

VDES R‐Mode performance analysis and experimental results
As maritime shipping relies almost exclusively on GNSS, there has been a demand for a backup system in case of a GNSS failure. We introduce and theoretically analyze the positioning performance of VDES R‐Mode as a candidate for an alternative maritime navigation system.

Abstract Sea level studies in the Mississippi Bight (MSB) are less abundant than in other coastal waters of USA. This study investigates the subinertial (time scales >2 days) sea level anomalies in the MSB shelf. The diagnostics of the terms in the invariant form of the momentum equation were computed to determine which terms have the most influence on

A Deep Learning Method for NLOS Error Mitigation in Coastal Scenes
With the widespread use of automatic identification systems (AISs), some ships use deceptive information or intentionally close their AISs to conceal their illegal activities or evade the supervision of maritime departments.
