Adaptronical compensation of geometrical machine errors
Production Engineering, 2012Static, quasi-static and dynamic displacements influence the accuracy of machine tool results. The low-frequency parts of these displacements can, on the one hand, be traced back to static stresses resulting from gravity as well as process loads and, on the other hand, to geometrical machine errors and the faulty positioning in the working area ...

Error-Tolerant Geometric Graph Similarity
2018Graph matching is the task of computing the similarity between two graphs. Error-tolerant graph matching is a type of graph matching, in which a similarity between two graphs is computed based on some tolerance value whereas within exact graph matching a strict one-to-one correspondence is required between two graphs.

Error Analysis: Geometric Approaches
2020The chapter considers error analysis with geometric approaches. In this regard, properties of hyperspheres of different classes of distance functions are discussed. It defines different types of geometric errors using those properties for evaluating the proximity of distance functions to Euclidean metrics.

On assessment of geometric errors
International Journal of Production Research, 1986SUMMARY Measurements are carried out on engineering components and analysed to check the conformity of the components to specification. This paper discusses different methods that are useful for assessing the errors on the dimensions, form and position of geometric features.

Geometrical effects of positional errors in integral photography
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2004The effects of misarrangement of elements (elemental lenses and elemental images) that construct three-dimensional (3-D) images in integral photography are presented. If the lens arrays of the capturing system and the display system are not aligned accurately, positional errors of elements may occur, causing the 3-D image to be reconstructed in an ...

Geometrical Track Parameters and Their Errors
1993Now we come to the point to which all the efforts of drift-chamber design lead up — the determination of the track parameters. The point of origin of a track, its angles of orientation, and its curvature in a magnetic field are the main geometric properties that one aims to measure.

Calibration of geometric and non-geometric errors of an industrial robot
Robotica, 2001Inaccurate positioning of the robot end effector causes joint deformation as well as geometric errors when an industrial robot has a payload at its end effector. We propose a new approach of calibration which deals with joint angle dependent errors to compensate for these phenomena.

Assessment of errors in geometrical relationships
Wear, 1988Abstract For functional reasons, the relationships between geometrical features of engineering components must be specified and controlled during manufacture, as must their geometrical form. This paper describes the concepts involved in the measurement and evaluation of geometrical relationships and explains the application of the least-squares ...

Surface meshing using a geometric error estimate
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2003AbstractIn this paper we discuss an a posteriori interpolation error estimate based on the Hessian of the surface and we propose a new geometric error estimate related to the local deformation of the surface. The new approach makes possible the construction of adapted geometric meshes for surfaces by specifying the element sizes (and directions) so as ...
