Elliptic solutions to difference non-linear equations and related many-body problems

open access: yes, 1997
We study algebro-geometric (finite-gap) and elliptic solutions of fully discretized KP or 2D Toda equations. In bilinear form they are Hirota's difference equation for $\tau$-functions.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Rationally Designing the Trace of Wire Bonder Head for Large-Span-Ratio Wire Bonding in 3D Stacked Packaging

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The increasing miniaturization of functional devices drives the microelectronic industry to pursuit large-span-ratio and high-density wire bonding packaging technology as it can facilely interconnect various chips at a low cost. The design method of wire

Hamiltonian Coupling of Electromagnetic Field and Matter

open access: yes, 2017
Reversible part of evolution equations of physical systems is often generated by a Poisson bracket. We discuss geometric means of construction of Poisson brackets and their mutual coupling (direct, semidirect and matched-pair products) as well as ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

On Geometric-Analytic Aspects of Solvable Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations and Some Applications

open access: yesMathematics
A geometric-analytic approach to studying invariants of solvable nonlinear ordinary differential equations is developed. In particular, there is described in detail a general scheme of constructing solvable nonlinear ordinary differential equations ...

A Multiscale Model for Virus Capsid Dynamics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biomedical Imaging, 2010
Viruses are infectious agents that can cause epidemics and pandemics. The understanding of virus formation, evolution, stability, and interaction with host cells is of great importance to the scientific community and public health.

ON MEAN DENSITIES OF INHOMOGENEOUS GEOMETRIC PROCESSES ARISING IN MATERIAL SCIENCE AND MEDICINE

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2011
The scope of this paper is to offer an overview of the main results obtained by the authors in recent literature in connection with the introduction of a Delta formalism, á la Dirac-Schwartz, for random generalized functions (distributions) associated ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Cosmological implications of the Weyl geometric gravity theory

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We consider the cosmological implications of the Weyl geometric gravity theory. The basic action of the model is obtained from the simplest conformally invariant gravitational action, constructed, in Weyl geometry, from the square of the Weyl scalar, the
