Completeness and Hereditary Transfer of Exactness Properties for Internal Group Objects in D-Modules

open access: yesMathematics
This paper establishes a comprehensive framework for the hereditary transfer of categorical completeness and cocompleteness to categories of internal group objects in D-modules.

The Analysis of Pre-service Math Teachers’ Level of Understanding the Derivative Concept within the Context of APOS Theory

open access: yesSHS Web of Conferences, 2018
APOS (Action-Process-Object-Schema) learning theory is the result of the studies of a mathematics education research group named Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education Community (RUMEC), whose aim is to examine students’ level of comprehending ...

Supersymmetric RG flows and Janus from type II orbifold compactification

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
We study holographic RG flow solutions within four-dimensional $$N=4$$ N = 4 gauged supergravity obtained from type IIA and IIB string theories compactified on $$T^6/\mathbb {Z}_2\times \mathbb {Z}_2$$ T 6 / Z 2 × Z 2 orbifold with gauge, geometric and ...

Kähler groups and Geometric Group Theory

open access: yes, 2017
In this thesis we study Kähler groups and their connections to Geometric Group Theory. This work presents substantial progress on three central questions in the field: Which subgroups of direct products of surface groups are Kähler? Which Kähler groups admit a classifying space with finite (n-1)-skeleton but no classifying space with finitely many n ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Understanding the Stochastic Nature of Process Parameter Development of Blown Powder Laser Beam Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing of Pure Molybdenum

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Foundations of geometric approximate group theory [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop the foundations of a geometric theory of countably-infinite approximate groups, extending work of Björklund and the second-named author. Our theory is based on the notion of a quasi-isometric quasi-action (qiqac) of an approximate group on a ...

Geometric Group Theory [PDF]

open access: yes
Geometric Group Theory. Groups arise naturally as symmetries of geometric objects. Often groups have an interesting geometric structure obtained by thinking of these geometric objects coursely.
