The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Magnetic charged particles of optical spherical antiferromagnetic model with fractional system

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2021
In this article, we first consider approach of optical spherical magnetic antiferromagnetic model for spherical magnetic flows of ϒ\Upsilon -magnetic particle with spherical de-Sitter frame in the de-Sitter space S12{{\mathbb{S}}}_{1}^{2}.

The Quantum Geometric Phase between Orthogonal States

open access: yes, 2004
We show that the geometric phase between any two states, including orthogonal states, can be computed and measured using the notion of projective measurement, and we show that a topological number can be extracted in the geometric phase change in an ...

Observation of nonlinear variations in three-vertex geometric phase in two-photon polarization qutrit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We experimentally observed nonlinear variations in the three-vertex geometric phase in a two- photon polarization qutrit. The three-vertex geometric phase is defined by three quantum states, which generally forms a three-state (qutrit) system.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Scaling of geometric phases close to quantum phase transition in the XY chain

open access: yes, 2005
We show that geometric phase of the ground state in the XY model obeys scaling behavior in the vicinity of a quantum phase transition. In particular we find that geometric phase is non-analytical and its derivative with respect to the field strength ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Topological Acoustic Sensing Using Nonseparable Superpositions of Acoustic Waves

open access: yesVibration, 2022
We introduce a method, topological acoustic sensing, which exploits changes in the geometric phase of nonseparable coherent superpositions of acoustic waves to sense mass defects in arrays of coupled acoustic waveguides.

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Spin-dependent amplitude and phase modulation with multifold interferences via single-layer diatomic all-silicon metasurfaces

open access: yesOpto-Electronic Science
Diatomic metasurfaces designed for interferometric mechanisms possess significant potential for the multidimensional manipulation of electromagnetic waves, including control over amplitude, phase, frequency, and polarization.
