Shape correspondence for cel animation based on a shape association graph and spectral matching

open access: yesComputational Visual Media, 2023
We present an effective spectral matching method based on a shape association graph for finding region correspondences between two cel animation keyframes.

Updating method on geometric shape control of continuous steel box girder bridges by incremental launching construction

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2023
A new method of deviation vector transformation of geometric shape was proposed to improve the accuracy on geometric shape control of continuous steel box girder bridges by incremental launching construction. The method correct the transfer matrix method ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Geometric Correspondence for Ensembles of Nonregular Shapes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An ensemble of biological shapes can be represented and analyzed with a dense set of point correspondences. In previous work, optimal point placement was determined by optimizing an information theoretic criterion that depends on relative spatial locations on different shapes combined with pairwise Euclidean distances between nearby points on the same ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Geometric feature distributions for shape representation and recognition. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
One of the fundamental problems in computer vision is the identification of objects from their shape. The research reported in this thesis is directed toward the development of a scheme for representing the shape of an object which allows it to be ...

THE INFLUENCE OF THE GEOMETRIC SHAPE ABOVE THE VULNERABILITY OF BUILDINGS - KULA TYPE FROM OLTENIA AND MUNTENIA REGIONS

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2019
The main goal of this paper is to highlight the vulnerability during the life time of kula buildings from Oltenia and Muntenia Regions from Romania. This research highlights the characteristic features of massive kula type buildings by masonry built ...

Why Shape Matters—On the Inherent Qualities of Geometric Shapes for Cartographic Representations

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2019
All human communication involves the use of signs. By following a mutually shared set of signs and rules, meaning can be conveyed from one entity to another.

Geometric modeling and applications of generalized blended trigonometric Bézier curves with shape parameters

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2020
A Bézier model with shape parameters is one of the momentous research topics in geometric modeling and computer-aided geometric design. In this study, a new recursive formula in explicit expression is constructed that produces the generalized blended ...

Concerning the shape of a geometric lattice

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2008
A well-known conjecture states that the Whitney numbers of the second kind of a geometric lattice (simple matroid) are logarithmically concave. We show this conjecture to be equivalent to proving an upper bound on the number of new copoints in the free erection of the associated simple matroid M.
