The Performance of Discrete Models of Low Reynolds Number Swimmers
Swimming by shape changes at low Reynolds number is widely used in biology and understanding how the efficiency of movement depends on the geometric pattern of shape changes is important to understand swimming of microorganisms and in designing low ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Data-Driven Research on the Matching Degree of Eyes, Eyebrows and Face Shapes
There is a close relationship between the attractiveness of the face and the facial features. The shape of the facial features determines the level of attractiveness, in which the eyes and eyebrows are particularly vital.

Shape-dependent Depinning of a Domain Wall by a Magnetic Field and a Spin-Polarized Current
The effect of sample shape on the depinning of the domain wall (DW) driven by an applied magnetic field or a spin-polarized current is studied theoretically.

We present an algorithm to compute the geometric median of shapes which is based on the extension of median to high dimensions. The median finding problem is formulated as an optimization over distances and it is solved directly using the watershed method as an optimizer.

Cerebellar Activation During Copying Geometrical Shapes
We studied functional MRI activation in the cerebellum during copying 9 geometrical shapes (equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle, square, diamond, vertical trapezoid, pentagon, hexagon, circle, and vertical lemniscate). Twenty subjects were imaged during 3 consecutive 45-s periods (rest, visual presentation, and copying).

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Locating Overlapping Flexible Shapes Using Geometrical Constraints [PDF]
In an earlier paper [1] we have proposed a shape representation called the CLD (Chord Length Distribution) which possesses many of the often-quoted desirable properties of a shape representation. It also captures shape variability and complements an object location method using belief updating which integrates low-level evidence and shape constraints ...

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Mathematical expression method for geometric shape of toroidal propeller
ObjectivesThe toroidal propeller can effectively reduce tip vortex leakage due to its unique shape, which is beneficial for reducing hydrodynamic noise and improving propulsion efficiency. However, its complex shape also makes it challenging to model its
