Effect of service temperature on cyclic mechanical behavior of magnesium with fine grained structure
To explore the effect of operational service temperatures on the fatigue properties of fine-grained magnesium, we processed magnesium using multi-pass rolling at about 200oC and then tested the samples under a cyclic tension-tension loading at various ...

Investigation of the shear response and geometrically necessary dislocation densities in shear localization in high-purity titanium [PDF]
Abstract The influence of microstructural anisotropy on shear response of high-purity titanium was studied using the compact forced-simple-shear specimen (CFSS) loaded under quasi-static loading conditions. Post-mortem characterization reveals significant difference in shear response of different directions in the same material due to material ...

The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Size effects and dislocation patterning in two-dimensional bending
We perform atomistic Monte Carlo simulations of bending a Lennard-Jones single crystal in two dimensions. Dislocations nucleate only at the free surface as there are no sources in the interior of the sample.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Copper sheets were subjected to differential speed rolling (DSR) at roll speed ratios (RSRs) from 1 to 3. The effects of the RSR on the yield strength, uniform strain, microstructure, and texture evolution in the copper sheets were investigated.
