Semirigid geometry [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 1992
We provide an intrinsic description of $N$-super \RS s and $TN$-\SR\ surfaces. Semirigid surfaces occur naturally in the description of topological gravity as well as topological supergravity. We show that such surfaces are obtained by an integrable reduction of the structure group of a complex supermanifold. We also discuss the \s moduli spaces of $TN$

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Observations on holographic aspects of four-dimensional asymptotically flat N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 black holes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In this note, we explore holographic attributes of four-dimensional near-extremal Reissner-Nordstrom black hole solutions in ungauged N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 supergravity theories at the two-derivative level by recasting them as a specific first-order ...

On Bloch’s map for torsion cycles over non-closed fields

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2023
We generalize Bloch’s map on torsion cycles from algebraically closed fields to arbitrary fields. While Bloch’s map over algebraically closed fields is injective for zero-cycles and for cycles of codimension at most two, we show that the generalization ...

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.

Automated detection, labelling and radiological grading of clinical spinal MRIs

open access: yesScientific Reports
Spinal magnetic resonance (MR) scans are a vital tool for diagnosing the cause of back pain for many diseases and conditions. However, interpreting clinically useful information from these scans can be challenging, time-consuming and hard to reproduce ...

Tight Wavelet Frame Decomposition and Its Application in Image Processing

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical and Fundamental Sciences, 2013
This paper is devoted to the formulation of a decomposition algorithm using tight wavelet frames, in a multivariate setting. We provide an alternative method for decomposing multivariate functions without accomplishing any tensor product. Furthermore, we

A Robust and Accurate Landing Methodology for Drones on Moving Targets

open access: yesDrones, 2022
This paper presents a framework for performing autonomous precise landing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on dynamic targets. The main goal of this work is to design the methodology and the controlling algorithms that will allow multi-rotor drones to ...

Geometry of Morphogenesis

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce a formalism for the geometry of eukaryotic cells and organisms.Cells are taken to be star-convex with good biological reason. This allows for a convenient description of their extent in space as well as all manner of cell surface gradients ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.
