The article demonstrates that brine was central for the supply of Ca and B to the studied saline lake. The ion transport occurred probably by thermal springs, while contributions from surface waters cannot be excluded. However, the saturation and syndepositional precipitation of Ca borates were initiated by an arid climate through evaporation, while ...

Helical rotary screw expander power system [PDF]
An energy converter for the development of wet steam geothermal fields is described. A project to evaluate and characterize a helical rotary screw expander for geothermal applications is discussed.

The Bisperode section is one of the most expanded and complete sections with shallow‐marine Oxfordian strata in the LSB. This study provides a reference record for shallow‐marine settings and allows for the correlation of the strata from the LSB with Oxfordian deposits distributed elsewhere in the world.

Unravelling the relative contributions of climate change and ground disturbance to subsurface temperature perturbations: Case studies from Tyneside, UK [PDF]
When assessing subsurface urban heat islands (UHIs) it is important to distinguish between localized effects of land-use change and the impacts of global climate change. However, few investigations have successfully unraveled the two influences.

Shallow‐marine mudstone of the Cretaceous Kaskapau Formation in the British Columbia foredeep preserves a 185 m thick record of OAE2. The organic carbon‐isotope and osmium‐isotope excursions can be correlated in detail with other Cenomanian–Turonian boundary sections around the world.

Solar and geothermal energy for low-carbon space heating and energy independence. [PDF]
In developed countries, space heating is highly dependent on fossil fuels consumption. Also, the non-renewable fuels combustion emits CO2 which is claimed to impact the most on greenhouse effect.

Genesis and reservoir preservation mechanism of 10 000‐m ultradeep dolomite in Chinese craton basin
Potential exploration target stratum of 10 000‐m ultradeep dolomite in Sichuan Basin and Tarim Basin, China. Abstract The 10 000‐m ultradeep dolomite reservoir holds significant potential as a successor field for future oil and gas exploration in China's marine craton basin.
