Germ cell tumors of the CNS are typically midline lesions, commonly affecting the pineal and suprasellar regions, and are similar to their counterparts arising in the gonads. Types, histological and immunohistochemical features of CNS germ cell tumors are essentially the same as gonadal or extra-gonadal extracranial germ cell tumors.
