Endothelial Cell‐Specific Molecule‐1 (ESM1): An Endogenous Anticoagulant and Protective Factor in Venous Thrombosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ESM1 as an endogenous anticoagulant that modulates venous thrombosis. It shows that ESM1 deficiency triggers vascular occlusion in zebrafish and mice, whereas its restoration or overexpression prolongs clot‐formation time. Mechanistic analyses reveal that ESM1 activates HCII through its dermatan‐sulfate chain, uncovering a ...

Possibilities and limitations of vegetative propagation in breeding and mass propagation of Norway spruce [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The use of vegetative mass propagation in practical forestry with Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) is limited at present, although its potential to deliver high genetic gains is obvious.

TOGR3, a Proteasome β4 Subunit, Orchestrates Sugar Homeostasis to Trade Off Growth and Thermotolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a novel thermoregulatory mechanism in rice: TOGR3 partners with 26S proteasome subunits, including TT1, to drive thermoresponsive ubiquitin–proteasome activity, maintaining sugar homeostasis in stomatal regulation to balance growth and stress resistance.

Pollen Viability and Germination Capacity of Some Strawberry Genotypes

open access: yesFruit Growing Research, 2012
Pollen viability and germination capacity of strawberry genotypes were investigated using fresh pollen at 24°C. On 2012 environmental conditions of spring, the pollen viability rates showed significant differences from 2.85% up to 84.46% according to different genotypes.

From Natural Discovery to AI‐Guided Design: A Curated Collection of Compact Enhancers for Crop Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Precise transgene‐free gene upregulation remains a challenge in crop biotechnology, as conventional enhancers often exceed CRISPR‐mediated knock‐in size constraints and face regulatory hurdles. Here we establish a foundational cross‐species resource of compact transcriptional enhancers developed via STEM‐seq, a high‐throughput screening ...

Microgel‐Based Hierarchical Porous Hydrogel Patch with Adhesion and Resilience for Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a hierarchically porous hydrogel patch strategy (HPMP), based on gas‐shearing microfluidics and an aqueous two‐phase system to fabricate porous microgels as microgel‐based bioinks. The porous microgels with controllable porous structure exhibit excellent cellular behavior.

A DNA Tetrahedron Delivery Asiatic Acid to Reprogram Mitochondrial Metabolism for Promoting Bone Regeneration via STAT3 Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hyaluronic acid methacrylate (HAMA) hydrogel incorporating DNA tetrahedrons loaded with Asiatic acid (TDN@AA) was developed. HM‐TDN@AA promotes angiogenesis of endothelial cells (ECs), inhibits osteoclastogenesis from bone marrow–derived macrophages (BMDMs), and enhances osteogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) via STAT3‐mediated mitochondrial ...
