Improving Siberian larch seed germination rates

1992
The flotation technique was used to segregate non-viable from viable Siberian larch (Larix Sibirica Ledeb.) seeds using water as the floating media. The non-viable seeds floated while the viable ones sank. Without stratification, the average percent germination of the floating and sunken seeds were 4.2% and 71.0% respectively.

[Rate of germinal mutation in man. Measurement and surveillance].

Annales de biologie clinique, 1987
Estimate of the rate of germinal mutation in Man is difficult. Genic and chromosomic mutations must be considered separately. The only usable method, to avaluated the rates of genic mutation, is the direct method. The rate is estimated from the recording, at birth, of subjects with a particular phenotype due to a recent mutation, i.e. whose parents are

Quantitative determination of germines. The rate of transformation of germine-3,16-diacetate in buffered solutions of pH 7.4.

Arzneimittel-Forschung, 1980
Germine (GER), germine-3-monoacetate (GMA) and germine-3,16-diacetate (GDA) when treated with 9:1 mixture of concentrated sulfuric acid and glacial acetic acid yield a deep purple color with characteristic ultraviolet absorption spectra. Combination of the color reaction with TLC makes possible the quantitative determination of these compounds in ...

Temperature and the Rate of Germination of Dormant Seeds of Chenopodium album

1997
Rate of germination is often used as a measure of seed vigour. But germination may be retarded not only by low seed quality but also by dormancy.
