Germinoma occurring in the medulla oblongata is extremely rare. Ectopic intracranial germinoma
Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2016Intracranial ectopic germinomas are often associated with synchronous midline disease. Germinomas involving the corpus callosum are exceedingly rare. The reported imaging appearance is not as varied as one might expect and a review of the literature reveals a few common imaging features amongst most ectopic lesions, including cyst formation.

Pinealomas and germinomas in children
Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 1989A series of 34 pinealomas and intracranial germinomas in childhood (age less than 20), from two tumor registries, is analyzed. Male to female ratio was 2:1. Median age was 12 years. Visual complaints and endocrine disturbances were the most common presenting symptoms.
