Morpho-agronomic characterization and analysis of genetic divergenceamong accessions of tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2018
: The collection and characterization of tomato germplasm are of relevant importance for agriculture. This study aimed to collect and characterize, by way of morphological description and statistical tools for the composition of groups, tomato accesses ...

Germplasm Conservation

open access: yes, 2021
With the increase in risk of extinction of various plants, the trend has been shifted to employment of many biotechnological techniques for preservation of genetic resources of plant and is the area of research which needs to be revolutionized after a specific time period because it allows the production and selection of crop varieties with desirable ...

Establishment of Interspecies Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer and Transgene‐Free Inducible Pluripotent Stem Cells for Versatile Conservation of the Germplasm Resource of Wild Boar

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Conserving genetic material and even increasing genetic diversity is critical. To conduct the conservation of wild boar germplasm resources, we have successfully obtained healthy cloned wild boars for the first time using interspecies somatic cell nuclear transfer and established transgene‐free iPSCs that can be used to conduct iterative rounds of gene

Fasting and Refeeding Mediated Phospholipid Remodeling Plays an Important Role in Improving Meat Quality of Aged Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Cost of Conservation of Agrobiodiversity [PDF]

open access: yes
The cost of conservation of germplasm stored in gene banks i.e., ex-situ collections has been studied in other parts of the world to estimate direct and indirect contributions by various actors involved in conservation.

Global wild rice germplasm resources conservation alliance: World Wild-Rice Wiring [PDF]

open access: yes
Comment Wild relatives of crop are key genetic resources serving as diversity reservoirs for crop improvement under changing environments. Rice (Oryza sativa) is one of the most important crops in the world, providing staple food for half of the world’s ...

Ursolic Acid Alleviates Orchitis via Modulating Ferroptosis in Peritubular Myoid Cells of Testis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Ursolic acid modulates key ferroptosis‐related pathways in the peritubular myoid cells of the testis in forest musk deer. ABSTRACT Chronic stress adversely affects reproductive health, increasing susceptibility to pathologies such as orchitis. Additionally, the maintenance of iron homeostasis is essential for preserving the function of the testicles ...
