G9a an Epigenetic Therapeutic Strategy for Neurodegenerative Conditions: From Target Discovery to Clinical Trials. [PDF]
ABSTRACT This review provides a comprehensive overview of the role of G9a/EHMT2, focusing on its structure and exploring the impact of its pharmacological and/or gene inhibition in various neurological diseases. In addition, we delve into the advancements in the design and synthesis of G9a/EHMT2 inhibitors, which hold promise not only as a treatment ...

Testicular large B-cell lymphoma is genetically similar to PCNSL and distinct from nodal DLBCL. [PDF]
Abstract Testicular large B‐cell lymphoma (TLBCL) is an infrequent and aggressive lymphoma arising in an immune‐privileged site and has recently been recognized as a distinct entity from diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We describe the genetic features of TLBCL and compare them with published series of nodal DLBCL and primary large B‐cell ...

Neural signatures of memory gain through active exploration in an oculomotor‐auditory learning task
Abstract Active engagement improves learning and memory, and self‐ versus externally generated stimuli are processed differently: perceptual intensity and neural responses are attenuated. Whether the attenuation is linked to memory formation remains unclear. This study investigates whether active oculomotor control over auditory stimuli—controlling for

Abstract The emergence of infectious diseases, such as COVID‐19, impacts livelihood strategies and conservation tools reliant on human‐wildlife interactions, such as wildlife‐based tourism and research. This is particularly relevant to great ape conservation, as humans and great apes are susceptible to being infected by similar pathogens.

Summary The fight against infectious diseases often focuses on epidemics and pandemics, which demand urgent resources and command attention from the health authorities and media. However, the vast majority of deaths caused by infectious diseases occur in endemic zones, particularly in developing countries, placing a disproportionate burden on ...

Here we used single‐oocyte RNA‐Seq to study the transcriptome changes occurring during human oocyte aging. We sampled Germinal Vesicle (GV) stage oocytes from women of age 18–43 and analyzed them directly (GV) or after in vitro maturation (IVM‐MII). We observed that age has a bigger impact on the IVM‐MII transcriptome.

Genome‐wide postnatal changes in immunity following fetal inflammatory response
The exposure to a fetal inflammatory response (FIR) is often followed by a postnatal systemic inflammation, increasing the risk of perinatal brain injury. We profiled the transcriptome and proteome in neonatal dried blood spots from extremely preterm newborns (< 28 weeks of gestation), affected and unaffected by FIR.

Stakeholders came together to manage an evidence–based project to restore and create ponds for amphibians. After four years the intervention ponds had higher mean amphibian species richness than long–established local ponds. Abstract 1. Effective wildlife restoration is a critical requirement of many conservation actions.
