Gesture recognition with a DataGlove
IEEE Conference on Aerospace and Electronics, 2002An experiment was conducted to investigate gesture recognition with a human hand manipulating the DataGlove, an electronically instrumented glove which provides information about finger and hand position. A total of 22 gestures in three classes were investigated. The first class contained gestures which only involved finger flexure.

We describe a system that automatically detects and recognizes human head gestures such as nodding and shaking in complex background conditions using a cheap Web camera under uncontrolled conditions. The images of the head, captured at 20 frames per second, are very noisy and are of a low resolution.

Emblematic Gestures Recognition

This framework is based on a new coding of arms’ kinematics reflecting both the muscular activity of the performer and the appearance of arm seen by the recipient when a gesture is performed.

Gesture Recognition in Patients with Aphasia
