Situating African FinTech in Global Financial Networks
Short Abstract This paper explores the geographical patterns of firm creation and investments in African FinTech and how they have evolved since the emergence of FinTech on the continent. Our findings show waves of investment, specialisation of different FinTech centres and the networks of FinTech capital.

Structured illuminations can unlock hidden quasi‐BIC modes in Fano‐resonant metasurfaces, enhancing the sensitivity to nanoscale perturbations. By analyzing the eigenmode spectrum of a dielectric metasurface and applying information theory, tailored wavefronts can be engineered that selectively excite otherwise inaccessible modes.

Learning Supervised PageRank with Gradient-Based and Gradient-Free Optimization Methods
In this paper, we consider a non-convex loss-minimization problem of learning Supervised PageRank models, which can account for some properties not considered by classical approaches such as the classical PageRank model.

Tuning Product Distribution in Plasma‐Activated Water by Modifying Reactor Design
This study systematically compares plasma‐activated water reactor configurations for nitrogen fixation, demonstrating that reactor design, catalyst inegration, and gas flow govern product selectivity. Slurry reactor favor nitrate formation, whereas needle system promote ammonium production.

q-Schur algebras and complex reflection groups, I [PDF]
We show that the category O for a rational Cherednik algebra of type A is equivalent to modules over a q-Schur algebra (parameter not a half integer), providing thus character formulas for simple modules. We give some generalization to B_n(d).

The Shannon Cipher System with a Guessing Wiretapper: General Sources
The Shannon cipher system is studied in the context of general sources using a notion of computational secrecy introduced by Merhav & Arikan. Bounds are derived on limiting exponents of guessing moments for general sources.
