Tensile and Bond Properties of GFRP Reinforcing Bars
ACI Materials Journal, 1995The bond characteristics of four different types of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) reinforcing bars with different surface deformations were analyzed in experiments. Local bond stress-slip data, as well as bond stress-radial deformation data, needed for constitutive modeling of the interface mechanics, were obtained for varying levels of ...

Durability of gfrp reinforcing bars and their bond in concrete
2015The use of composite reinforcing bars (rebars) for the reinforcement of concrete appears as an attractive solution to prevent corrosion, which is the main pathology encountered on concrete structures. Although such rebars are being used for more than ten years, there is a clear lack of knowledge regarding their durability, especially under alkaline ...

Bond of GFRP bar and concrete: numerical approach
2017Current practice of FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) RC (Reinforced Concrete) structures mainly takes perfect bond as an assumption for modelling the structural behaviour. As distinct to that, present work deals with application of local bond-slip law for estimating the influence of the interaction of FRP bar and concrete at structural level.

GFRP bars for internal reinforcement of concrete structures
2016This paper presents the activities developed at Politecnico di Milano that deal with the use of glass fibre reinforced polymers (GFRP) rebars for the internal reinforcement of concrete structural elements. Problems related to experimental characterization of the rebars, to bond of GFRP rebars and concrete, to fatigue of GFRP reinforced slabs and to the
