Improvement of Composite Beam with Web Opening Using Posttensioning Tendons under Static and Cyclic Loadings

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
In practice, the passage of service utilities through web opening causes a significant load‐carrying capacity loss and introduces a change of failure mode of the composite beam. This study aims to improve the load‐carrying capacity and stiffness of open‐web composite beams subjected to static and cyclic loading using posttensioning tendons.

Behavior of masonry strengthened infilled reinforced concrete frames under in-plane load

open access: yesHBRC Journal, 2015
Experimental tests have been carried out to study the behavior of different single story frames infilled with brick masonry under the in-plane lateral load influence. Three phases of frames were tested.

Finite element modeling of steel bar buckling in FRP-confined RC columns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) confining jackets offer an attractive solution for the seismic retrofit of reinforced concrete (RC) columns. For an accurate prediction of the strength and ductility of FRP-confined RC columns, it is necessary to understand

Evaluation of the dynamic behavior of a GFRP-SFRSCC hybrid footbridge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents results of numerical investigations on the dynamic behaviour of a hybrid footbridge made of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) pultruded profiles and a steel fibre reinforced self-compacting concrete (SFRSCC) slab. Finite element

Flexural Behaviour of HYFRC Beam Reinforced with GFRP Rebar

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2019
This paper offers the experimental have a take a look at at the flexural behaviour of HYFRC beams bolstered with glass fiber bolstered polymer (GFRP) rebar and in comparison with everyday metal reinforcement beams. Three beams reinforced with GFRP rebar and three beams of traditional concrete metal strengthened with absolutely six beams have been ...

Numerical Analysis on Bond Strength of FRP Rebars under Elevated Temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The bond behaviour between fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) and concrete at a different temperature, ranging from room temperature (20°C) to high temperature of up to 300°C, are modelled using the FEA in this paper.
