Giant basal cell carcinoma (case report)

open access: yesRussian Medical Inquiry, 2023
Basal cell skin cancer, or basal cell carcinoma (BCC), is the most common malignant tumor originating from skin keratinocytes or hair follicles. Giant BCCs are malignant skin neoplasms sized more than 5 cm with a greater tendency to invasion and metastasis than "standard" BCCs (sized less than 5 cm).

Clinical features, pathology, and surgical management of periocular giant basal cell carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Mind and Medical Sciences, 2020
Objectives. Basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) are malignant tumors which rarely metastasize, are slow-growing, and extensively locally destructive. BCCs more than 5 cm in diameter are defined as giant.

Cellular and molecular mediators of bone metastatic lesions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Bone is the preferential site of metastasis for breast and prostate tumor. Cancer cells establish a tight relationship with the host tissue, secreting factors that stimulate or inhibit bone cells, receiving signals generated from the bone remodeling ...

Successful treatment of giant basal cell carcinoma with topical imiquimod 5% cream with long term follow-up

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2014
The use of the topical Imiquimod 5% cream offers a noninvasive, nonsurgical, and an effective option for the treatment of primary small (5 cm) BCC with topical Imiquimod 5% cream are rare. We present our experience in the treatment of two giant tumors (6

A systematic approach to cancer: evolution beyond selection. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Giant Cornu Cutaneum Superimposed on Basal Cell Carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesWest Indian Medical Journal, 2015
Cornu cutaneum (CC) is a clinical term that describes the horn-like keratotic lesions extending vertically from the skin. Benign, premalignant or malignant lesions may be present at the base of CC.
