Bovine lactoferricin on non-specific immunity of giant freshwater prawns, Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2022This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary Bovine lactoferricin (LFcinB) on the growth performance and non-specific immunity in Macrobrachium rosenbergii. Five experimental diets were 1.0‰ Bovine lactoferricin (LCB1); 1.5‰ Bovine lactoferricin (LCB1.5); 2.0‰ Bovine lactoferricin (LCB2); 2.5‰ Bovine lactoferricin (LCB2.5); the control group,

The ingestion of giant freshwater prawn, Chinese prawn and giant tiger prawn had continuity and the ingestion high peak occurred at night. Light and temperature had significant effects on the daily ingestion rate (DIR) of giant freshwater prawnMacrobrachium rosenbergii. Red light and blue light favorably induced favorable ingestion.

Oxytetracycline Residues in Giant Freshwater Prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii)
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2001The distribution of oxytetracycline (OTC) in male and female Macrobrachium rosenbergii was examined after the prawns had been given medicated feed containing OTC at levels of 2.5 and 5.0 g/kg of feed for 1 week and nonmedicated feed thereafter. OTC levels in the heads of both male and female prawns were consistently higher than in the muscles.

A novel, ssDNA Bidnavirus in the giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Aquaculture, 2022AbstractA purported parvovirus producing circular, eosinophilic inclusions in the nuclei of tubule epithelial cells of the hepatopancreas (HP) of the giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii (Mr) was first reported from Malaysia in 1994. In 2009, similar inclusions in Mr from Thailand were confirmed to contain single-stranded DNA (ssDNA).

Microcystin-LR disturbs testicular development of giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Chemosphere, 2019Microcystins (MCs) are produced by cyanobacterial blooms and known for their hepatotoxicity. They could cause serious damage to the reproduction of higher vertebrate mice and fish. However, few studies have focused on the reproductive toxicity of MCs to invertebrates.

Characterization of a gC1qR from the giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2015gC1qR, as a multicompartmental and a multifunctional protein, plays an important role in innate immunity. In this study, a gC1qR homolog (MrgC1qR) in the giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii was identified. MrgC1qR, a 258-amino-acid polypeptide, shares high identities with gC1qR from other species.

Ecdysteroid levels during the embryogenesis of the giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, were determined by radioimmunoassay and high-performance liquid chromatography. Ecdysteroids consisting of significant amounts of 20-hydroxyecdysone and high-polarity products (HPP) and lesser amounts of ecdysone and low-polarity products (LPP) were ...

Temperature and the dissolved oxygen content affect the oxygen consumption of juveniles of Chinese prawn (Penaeus chinensis), giant tiger prawn (P. monodon) and giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). There is good correlation between the oxygen consumption rate (V, mg/g·h) of the above three prawn species and the water temperature, and ...
