Wall‐to‐wall Amazon forest height mapping with Planet NICFI, Aerial LiDAR, and a U‐Net regression model

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Tree canopy height is a key indicator of forest biomass and structure, yet accurate mapping across the Amazon remains challenging. Here, we generated a canopy height map of the Amazon forest at ~4.8 m resolution using Planet NICFI imagery and a deep learning U‐Net model trained with airborne LiDAR data.

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Systematic Reanalysis of KMTNet Microlensing Events. II. Two New Planets in Giant-source Events

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
In this work, we continue to apply the updated KMTNet tender-love care photometric pipeline to historical microlensing events. We apply the pipeline to a subsample of events from the KMTNet database, which we refer to as the giant source sample ...

Corporate Involvement in the Sustainable Development Goals: The Case of Banks in Sub‐Saharan Africa

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the extent of banks' involvement in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and factors influencing their participation in Sub‐Saharan Africa (SSA). Previous studies have highlighted the dearth of research conducted in developing countries.

TOI-4201: An Early M Dwarf Hosting a Massive Transiting Jupiter Stretching Theories of Core Accretion

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We confirm TOI-4201 b as a transiting Jovian-mass planet orbiting an early M dwarf discovered by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite. Using ground-based photometry and precise radial velocities from NEID and the Planet Finder Spectrograph, we ...

Blue‐Prints for Ocean Governance: Analyzing Resource Sustainability in International Blue Economic Frameworks

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Championed as a pathway for sustainable growth, the “blue economy” (BE) has garnered increasing interest in recent decades. International organizations like the World Bank and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) increasingly point to marine resources and activities as a “new frontier” for economic growth ...

Discovery of a Jupiter Analog Misaligned to the Inner Planetary System in HD 73344

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We present the discovery of a Jupiter-like planet, HD 73344 d ( ${m}_{d}=2.5{5}_{-0.46}^{+0.56}\,{M}_{J}$ , ${a}_{d}=6.7{0}_{-0.26}^{+0.25}$ au, ${e}_{d}=0.1{8}_{-0.12}^{+0.14}$ ) based on 27 yr radial velocity (RV) observations from ELODIE, Lick ...

Electrically Conductive Nanocarbon/Elastomer Composite Inks for Flexible and Wearable Strain Sensing

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
An eco‐friendly ink combining carbon nano‐onions, carbon nanotubes, and a SEBS elastomer is formulated in biomass‐derived 2‐MeTHF. Dip‐coated and blade‐coated strain sensors show high conductivity, mechanical flexibility, and stable performance under repeated compression and tension.
