The Airbus bribery scandal: A collective myopia perspective

open access: yesEuropean Management Review, Volume 19, Issue 4, Page 654-670, Winter 2022., 2022
Abstract Drawing on collective myopia as a lens, we explore the infamous Airbus bribery scandal to show how the executives of the global aircraft manufacturer, through their actions and behaviours, institutionalised the payment of bribes to secure contracts.

A New Database of Giant Impacts over a Wide Range of Masses and with Material Strength: A First Analysis of Outcomes

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
In the late stage of terrestrial planet formation, planets are predicted to undergo pairwise collisions known as giant impacts. Here, we present a high-resolution database of giant impacts for differentiated colliding bodies of iron–silicate composition,

TOI-5344 b: A Saturn-like Planet Orbiting a Super-solar Metallicity M0 Dwarf

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
We confirm the planetary nature of TOI-5344 b as a transiting giant exoplanet around an M0-dwarf star. TOI-5344 b was discovered with the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite photometry and confirmed with ground-based photometry (the Red Buttes ...

Synapsids and sensitivity: Broad survey of tetrapod trigeminal canal morphology supports an evolutionary trend of increasing facial tactile specialization in the mammal lineage

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The trigeminus nerve (cranial nerve V) is a large and significant conduit of sensory information from the face to the brain, with its three branches extending over the head to innervate a wide variety of integumentary sensory receptors, primarily tactile.

Vertical ambush corridors: Intriguing multi‐mechanism ecological structures embedded in the kinetic fluid architectures of ocean living resource production systems

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 24, Issue 1, Page 3-20, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The concept of a ‘vertical ambush corridor’ is herein introduced to marine ecosystem science. In the open ocean, adequate physical cover from which to launch an unanticipated ambush attack is generally lacking. An available alternative is for a predator to channel its attack vertically upward from below, rendering an unlighted approaching ...

Searching for GEMS: TOI-6383Ab, a Giant Planet Transiting an M3-dwarf Star in a Binary System

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We report on the discovery of a transiting giant planet around the 3500 K M3-dwarf star TOI-6383A located 172 pc from Earth. It was detected by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite and confirmed by a combination of ground-based follow-up photometry ...

False Planets around Giant Stars: A Case Study of Sanders 364 in M67

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
Discovering planets in sparsely populated regions of parameter space is crucial to improving our understanding of planetary formation and evolution. One such region is the subset of planets that orbit giant, evolved stars.

UV to IR Continuous Photocatalytic Gas‐Phase CO2 Hydrogenation Over Ni‐Doped Molybdenum Oxysulfide: An Experimental and Mechanistic Study

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Low crystalline Ni‐doped molybdenum oxysulfide (Ni–MoOxSy) with 2H–MoS2 structure is synthesized using a hydrothermal procedure. This material shows continuous photocatalytic activity toward CO2 reduction under LED illumination from UV to IR to produce CO and CH4 with high conversion rates.

Modelling the longitudinal distribution, abundance, and habitat use of the giant freshwater shrimp (Macrobrachium spinipes) in a large intermittent, tropical Australian river to inform water resource policy

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 68, Issue 1, Page 61-76, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Water development threatens rivers and their biodiversity. Amphidromous shrimp are particularly vulnerable as they require migration between freshwater and estuaries to complete their life cycle. The Fitzroy River is a large tropical intermittent river undergoing water development that is home to the amphidromous shrimp Macrobrachium spinipes (

Self Similar Shocks in Atmospheric Mass Loss Due to Planetary Collisions

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
We present a mathematical model for the propagation of the shock waves that occur during planetary collisions. Such collisions are thought to occur during the formation of terrestrial planets, and they have the potential to erode the planet’s atmosphere.
