Gibbard-Satterthwaite Games.

open access: yes, 2015
The Gibbard-Satterthwaite theorem implies the ubiquity of manipulators-voters who could change the election outcome in their favor by unilaterally modifying their vote. In this paper, we ask what happens if a given profile admits several such voters. We model strategic interactions among Gibbard-Satterthwaite manipulators as a normal-form game.

Occurrence of Crocuta (Carnivora, Hyaenidae) from a potential Middle Pleistocene site at Pirro Nord (Apricena, southern Italy)

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 41, Issue 4, Page 552-557, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The Pirro Nord quarry has yielded evidence of one of the earliest hominin presences in western Europe, accompanied by an extremely rich and diverse collection of vertebrate remains, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, and small and large mammals.

Intercomparison of Methods for Disentangling Local and Nonlocal Biophysical Impacts of Land Cover Changes

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract The climatic impacts of land cover changes (LCCs) due to altered biophysical properties include local effects in LCC areas and nonlocal effects in both LCC and non‐LCC areas resulting from atmospheric feedback. The biophysical impacts of LCC simulated by climate models typically represent only the total effects, that is, the sum of local and ...

Modelling Reveals an Ice Field on the Arid Northeastern Tibetan Plateau During Marine Isotope Stage 6

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract The long‐standing hypothesis that an ice sheet covered the Tibetan Plateau during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) has been refuted. Further research has indicated that the Plateau experienced more extensive glacial expansion during Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 6 than during the LGM.

Underspecification and Communication

open access: yesErgo, An Open Access Journal of Philosophy
It has recently been argued that our use of vague language poses an intractable problem for any account of content and communication on which (i) the things we assert are propositions and (ii) understanding an assertion requires recognizing which ...

Palaeoenvironmental evolution of the Baltic Sea basin during the Last Interglacial (Eemian, Mikulino stages)—a review

open access: yesBoreas
This review presents an investigation of the evolution of the Baltic Sea basin and its connections through the Eemian Stage interglacial, based upon sequences of marine and associated deposits from the White Sea to the southwest Baltic, via the Karelian ...

Gibbards normative logikk

open access: yes, 2008

The configuration of Northern Hemisphere ice sheets through the Quaternary

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
How global climatic changes are translated into ice-sheet fluctuations and sea-level change is not well understood. Here the authors present a compilation of empirical data and numerical modelling results of pre-LGM Northern Hemisphere ice sheet changes ...
