The Gibberellin 20-Oxidase of Gibberella fujikuroi Is a Multifunctional Monooxygenase [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
The genes for gibberellin (GA) biosynthesis are clustered in the fungus Gibberella fujikuroi. In addition to genes encoding a GA-specific geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase and a bifunctional ent-copalyl diphosphate/ent-kaurene synthase, the cluster contains four cytochrome P450 monooxygenase genes (P450-1, -2, -3, -4). Recently it was shown that P450-

Microbial transformation of pseudoprotodioscin by Gibberella fujikuroi

open access: yesJournal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2018
Three new (6, 9, and 12) and nine known steroidal saponins were obtained from the fermentation broth of pseudoprotodioscin (PPD) incubated with a fungus Gibberella fujikuroi CGMCC 3.4663. Structures of the metabolites were elucidated by 1-D (1H, 13C), 2-D (HMBC, HSQC, NOESY) NMR, and HR-MS analyses.

Inhibition of gibberellin biosynthesis by nitrate in Gibberella fujikuroi [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1997
Gibberellin production in Gibberella fujikuroi starts upon exhaustion of the nitrogen source. To determine the role of nitrate and ammonium in the regulation of gibberellin biosynthesis we have isolated mutants that cannot use nitrate as a nitrogen source. Nitrate inhibited partially the production of gibberellins in mutants devoid of nitrate reductase

Producción de ácido giberélico a partir de Gibberella fujikuroi utilizando lodo residual municipal como sustrato

open access: yesUniversitas Scientiarum, 2011
Production of gibberellic acid from Gibberella fujikuroi using municipal sewage sludge as a substrate. Objective. To use municipalsewage sludge (LRM) from a wastewater treatment plant located in Toluca, State of Mexico, to grow the fungus Gibberella ...

Loss of gibberellin production in Fusarium verticillioides (Gibberella fujikuroi MP-A) is due to a deletion in the gibberellic acid gene cluster. [PDF]

open access: yesAppl Environ Microbiol, 2008
Fusarium verticillioides (Gibberella fujikuroi mating population A [MP-A]) is a widespread pathogen on maize and is well-known for producing fumonisins, mycotoxins that cause severe disease in animals and humans. The species is a member of the Gibberella

The P450-1 gene of Gibberella fujikuroi encodes a multifunctional enzyme in gibberellin biosynthesis. [PDF]

open access: yesProc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 2001
Recent studies have shown that the genes of the gibberellin (GA) biosynthesis pathway in the fungus Gibberella fujikuroi are organized in a cluster of at least seven genes.

Homoterpene Biosynthesis in Fungi. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
The first homoterpene biosynthetic pathway in the fungal kingdom is reported. A methyltransferase–terpene cyclase pair produces a unique heptamethyl bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane homoterpene via presodorifen, demonstrating that homoterpene biosynthesis via the addition of a C1 unit to terpene diphosphate precursors prior to scaffold formation extends beyond the

Biotechnological Potential of a Novel Strain of Fusarium proliferatum, a Terrestrial Fungus Adapted to Marine Environment. [PDF]

open access: yesEnviron Microbiol Rep
A novel strain of Fusarium proliferatum was isolated from South Calabrian coasts (Italy) and molecularly characterised. Its rice cultures led to the identification of secondary metabolites with antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria monocytogenes, and with antioxidant properties.

Gibberellin Biosynthesis in gib Mutants of Gibberella fujikuroi [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1995
The Ascomycete Gibberella fujikuroi synthesizes gibberellins, fujenal, carotenoids, and other terpenoids. Twelve gib mutants, isolated through the modified gibberellin fluorescence of their culture media, were subjected to chemical and biochemical analyses.

Regulation of Gibberellin Biosynthesis in Gibberella fujikuroi [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1992
Gibberellin production by Gibberella fujikuroi started only after the nitrogen source was depleted and ceased upon its renewal. Nitrogen repression of gibberellin biosynthesis is not an indirect effect of the growth arrest that follows the depletion of an essential nutrient because gibberellins were not produced upon depletion of phosphate.
