Geomagnetically Induced Currents, Transformer Harmonics, and Reactive Power Impacts: Observed Response of a Single‐Phase Transformer in New Zealand

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Geomagnetic storms represent a space weather hazard to power transmission networks due to the effects of induced geo‐electric fields within the conducting surface of the Earth. These drive electric currents in power transmission lines which can flow to ground through the neutral‐ground connections of transformers.

Human + AI in Accounting: Early Evidence from the Field

open access: yesJournal of Accounting Research, Volume 64, Issue 3, Page 1333-1373, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper provides early evidence on the integration and impact of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in accounting at the accountant and task levels. Using survey data from 277 professional accountants, we document substantial heterogeneity in adoption patterns, perceived benefits, and concerns about GenAI.

Transcriptional Modulation of the Nrf2 Antioxidant Pathway and Tight Junctions by a Plant Sterol Food Supplement in an Intestinal Inflammation Coculture Model

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT There is growing evidence supporting the anti‐inflammatory activity of plant sterols (PS) in preclinical models of intestinal inflammation. However, the underlying mechanisms driving these beneficial effects remain incompletely understood. This study investigates the transcriptional modulatory activity of a PS food supplement (PS‐FS) on genes ...

CEO's Early‐life Experience of Disasters and Corporate Environmental Performance

open access: yesAbacus, Volume 62, Issue 2, Page 508-542, June 2026.
We investigate the nexus between the early‐life disaster experiences of chief executive officers (CEOs) and their firms’ environmental performance metrics. We hypothesize that first‐hand experience of the adversities of natural disasters in the formative years of a CEO can catalyze a transformation in their environmental cognizance and perspective ...

Australian Listed Entities’ Preparedness for Mandatory Reporting and Assurance of Climate‐related Disclosures

open access: yesAbacus, Volume 62, Issue 2, Page 337-391, June 2026.
Australian listed entities face mandatory climate‐related reporting and assurance requirements, to be contained in annual reports, for reporting periods from January 2025. Our study assesses the preparedness of listed entities on the Australian Stock Exchange to meet these requirements by examining their disclosures in annual reports between 2018 and ...
