Enhanced K+‐Solvent Co‐Intercalation Into Regenerated Spent Graphite a High‐Rate Capable Anode for Potassium‐Ion Batteries at Different Temperatures

open access: yesCleanMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 111-121, June 2026.
Thermal regeneration of spent graphite and its utilization as anode for K‐ion batteries is reported. For this purpose, an ether‐based electrolyte exhibits a K+‐solvent co‐intercalation mechanism at higher voltage providing safe operation without dendritic concerns and with high diffusivity at both low temperature and room temperature. ABSTRACT Globally

Atomic‐Level Insight of Carbon‐Based Anodes for Advanced Sodium Storage: Electrochemical Mechanisms and Molecular Simulation‐Assisted Modification

open access: yescMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, June 2026.
Hard carbon is a promising anode for sodium‐ion batteries, yet its Na+ storage mechanism remains elusive. This review summarizes Na+ storage behavior in hard carbon from first‐principles (DFT) calculations, establishes structure–function relationships, summarizes DFT‐based evaluation methods, and provides perspectives for the rational theoretical ...
