Parameterized Extraction of Tiles in Multilevel Gigapixel Images
2021 12th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis (ISPA), 2021In many image domains using multilevel gigapixel images, each image level may reveal different information. E.g., a histological image will reveal specific diagnostic information at different resolutions. By incorporating all levels in deep learning models, the accuracy can be improved.

Parallel MMS gigapixel imagers
Imaging and Applied Optics 2017 (3D, AIO, COSI, IS, MATH, pcAOP), 2017We present a new architecture for monocentric multiscale (MMS) gigapixel imagers. This new architecture parallels multiple MMS imagers together to interleave a continuous wide field-of-view (FOV) coverage, resulting in a more compact system layout.

An interactive image mining tool handling gigapixel images
2011 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2011Very High Resolution (VHR) satellite images are products which are very useful for assessing humanitarian situations following a disaster or a crisis. When disaster or conflict hits, generally several square kilometers on Earth surface are involved. Having a high resolution and an extended surface, the scenes, from which the information is extracted ...

Multiresolution Analysis on Searching for People in Gigapixel Images
2018 IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical & Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2018Digital images can be found in several sizes and they can be easily displayed on a computer screen using algorithms that reduce their dimensions. Recent advances have contributed to the emergence of gigapixel images with a large amount of information. These images can be understood as an image mosaic with multiple single pictures.

Gigapixel Imaging with the AWARE Multiscale Camera
Optics and Photonics News, 2012Gigapixel cameras have been confined to specialized applications such as aerial photography and astronomical observatories. A simplified architecture would better suit terrestrial imaging and reduce instrument cost and complexity. Our gigapixel AWARE camera is based on monocentric multiscale optical design principles that produce high-resolution images
