Ginga Middleware and Digital TV in Latin America

IT Professional, 2012
In 2005, Brazil launched its digital TV (DTV) agenda. The main premise was to reduce the digital divide present in the country, giving the lower social classes the right to access, produce, and distribute information. As a natural consequence, a second premise stressed the generation of local IT jobs and companies in support of this effort.

A Methodology for Upgrading Legacy Middleware Ginga Implementations to Profile Ginga-D

2020 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2020
Currently, the Brazilian digital television system is migrating its middleware approach from profile Ginga-C to an integrated broadcast-broadband (IBB) strategy, known as profile Ginga-D. Nonetheless, there is no indication regarding how to implement the new IBB services, while maintaining compatibility with older features.

Ginga-NCL

Proceedings of the 14th Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and the Web, 2008
This paper aims to present the first reference implementation of Ginga-NCL for portable receivers. Although based on a particular platform, the implementation not only works as a concept proof, but also raised several issues that should be taken into account when embedding this system. Ginga is the standard middleware of the Brazilian Digital TV System

Extensions to Middleware Ginga for Integration with IoT Environments

2020 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2020
Ginga is a middleware specified to offer support to execution of interactive applications, on digital TV (DTV) receivers. Although it offers an extensive application programming interface (API), it does not provide integration with IoT devices, which would favor its use in Internet of things (IoT) environments.

Ginga observations of Seyfert galaxies

Advances in Space Research, 1993
We observed twenty-eight Seyfert 2 galaxies with the Japanese X-ray satellite, Ginga, and found Seyfert 2 galaxies, in general, have the X-ray spectral characteristics of obscured Seyfert 1 nuclei. This results agrees with the predictions from the Unified Seyfert model proposed by Antonucci and Miller.

GINGA observations of AB Doradus

2005
We report GINGA observations of the pre main sequence star AB Doradus (HD 36705), performed during 8 – 12 January, 1990. Some rotational modulation might be present. four X-ray flares were detected. Three of these events were similar to the EINSTEIN HRI-flare (Vilhu and Linsky, 1987), with decay times around 25 min.
