EDUCATION IN GIRESUN IN THE OTTOMAN PERIOD
2021Giresun came under Ottoman rule after Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered Trabzon in 1461. With the conquest, settlement activities started in Giresun province, and in this context, many dervish lodges and zawiyas, primary schools, teachers' houses and madrasas were built as educational institutions.
