A Novel Ti12‐Based Metal‐Organic Framework for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
MIP‐209(Ti) is a new microporous MOF built up from Ti₁₂O₁₅ clusters and substituted terephthalate linkers, enabling isoreticular chemistry and clusters tunability for photocatalytic applications. Cr3⁺ doping (≤5 at%) on Ti‐oxoclusters drastically enhances water stability and boosts hydrogen production from water under simulated solar light irradiation.

RHEOLOGY OF GLACIER ICE

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1985
A new method for calculating the stress field in bounded ice shelves is used to compare strain rate and deviatoric stress on the Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica. The analysis shows that strain rate (per second) increases as the third power of deviatoric stress (in newtons per square meter), with a constant of proportionality equal to 2.3 x 10

Global warNing: challenges, threats and opportunities for ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) in high altitude habitats [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Aim of this paper is to provide the first comprehensive synthesis about ground beetle (Coleoptera: Carabidae) distribution in high altitude habitats. Specifically, the attention is focused on the species assemblages living on the most common ice-related mountain landforms (glaciers, debris-covered glaciers, glacier forelands and rock glaciers) and on ...

Glaciers in Wales [PDF]

open access: yesThe Geologist
In the year 1851 I read a paper before the Geological Society “On the Superficial Accumulations and Surface-markings in North Wales,” in which I attempted to show that there had been two glacier epochs in that country, one before, and the other after the deposition of the boulder drift, which was ploughed out of some of the larger valleys by the ...

Glacier area and the variability of glacier change

open access: yes, 2019
This is the preprint of a letter that is under review in the Journal of Glaciology. The abstract is as follows: Large-scale remote-sensing data on ice loss in the Himalaya and other glacierised regions indicate that the differences in glacier area do not significantly influence the glacier-to-glacier variability of the thinning rate. An analysis of the

Contrasting glacier responses to recent climate change in high-mountain Asia

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Recent studies of Asian glaciers have shown that glaciers in eastern Karakoram and West Kunlun have been slightly gaining mass while those in nearby Jammu Kashmir and Himalayas are losing mass, at rates of more than 0.5 m w.e.yr−1 and about 0.3 m w.e.yr ...

Grass functional traits reflect the long history of fire and grazers in the savannas of Texas

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Understanding relationships among grass traits, fire, and herbivores may help improve conservation strategies for savannas that are threatened by novel disturbance regimes. Emerging theory, developed in Africa, emphasizes that functional traits of savanna grasses reflect the distinct ways that fire and grazers consume biomass ...

Electrophoretic detection of black market myostatin propeptide

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 14, Issue 11-12, Page 1812-1824, November-December 2022., 2022
Of the 12 black market products investigated, only nine contained the target protein among dozens of other proteins. In the remaining ones, small growth hormone‐related peptides were found by mass spectrometry (e.g., tesamorelin). A shotgun proteomics approach revealed that all nine products contained full length GST‐tags.

Glacier Flow and the Growth of the Glacier Grain [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Glaciology, 1947
The crystallographic results of the Jungfraujoch Research Party’s investigations were published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society in August 1939. It has since occurred to me that insufficient attention was drawn to another factor affecting the movement and growth of the glacier grain, namely the possibility of pressure melting, followed by ...
