Seasonally dynamic ice conditions regulate migratory connectivity in Arctic caribou. In spring, intermediate ice conditions permit direct lake crossings until a behavioral threshold in surface albedo is reached (APR ≈0.56), whereas in fall, ice‐free conditions act as barriers and promote circumnavigations around lakes.
