The glaciology of the coniston basin
Geological Journal, 1962AbstractMuch of the lower hill‐country of the Lake District had a continuous ice‐cover during the Main Irish Sea glaciation, as probably also in the earlier glaciations, and there are many indications of ice‐action at considerable altitudes. The later phases of the Newer glaciation, however, made a great contribution to the present topography, in ...

Glaciological research in the Antarctic Peninsula
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. B, Biological Sciences, 1977The Antarctic Peninsula is a good place for studies that take advantage of its wide range of latitude. Other worthwhile investigations are those that set in context the glacier/climate relationships and provide a framework of basic glaciological data.

Photogrammetry as A Research Tool for Glaciology
The Photogrammetric Record, 1997Using a multidisciplinary project studying surging glaciers in Svalbard as a reference, this paper examines some of the ways in which photogrammetry can be used as a research tool by glaciologists. Photogrammetric compilations of two of the glaciers under study were produced from 1990 aerial photography.
