Glare points are the intensity maxima seen when a water drop illuminated by a wide beam is viewed from a certain direction and imaged. We show that good resolution in both the scattering angle and the glare point position can be achieved only if the size parameter x = 2pia/lambda is >>1 and that the positions of the glare points can be computed by a ...

Deep Trident Decomposition Network for Single License Plate Image Glare Removal
IEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print), 2021Deep convolutional neural networks have achieved state-of-the-art performance for the removal of atmospheric obscuration. However, most relevant studies have focused on eliminating the effects of atmospheric obscuration but not on the glare in images ...

Industry routers are very complex and time consuming, and are becoming more so with the explosion in design rules and design for manufacturability requirements that multiply with each technology node. Global routing is just the first phase of a router and serves the dual purpose of (i) seeding the following phases of a router and (ii) evaluating ...

GLARE: Low Light Image Enhancement via Generative Latent Feature based Codebook Retrieval
European Conference on Computer VisionMost existing Low-light Image Enhancement (LLIE) methods either directly map Low-Light (LL) to Normal-Light (NL) images or use semantic or illumination maps as guides.

Reduced Contrast Sensitivity Function in Central and Peripheral Vision by Disability Glare
Perception, 2020Various glares can decrease visual performance and cause discomfort, thus increasing drivers’ risk for traffic accidents in real life. The current study aimed to systematically investigate glare sensitivity in the central and peripheral visual fields by ...

The control of high-speed aircraft is a demanding task in which rapid decisions, based on visually acquired information, must frequently be made. Glare, both direct and veiling, is a prime cause of visual degradation in flight. The visual effects of glare are discussed together with means of reducing its consequences.

Abstract The glare effect consists in a strong brightness enhancement of a bright region determined solely by the presence of linear luminance gradients organized in such a way that the bright ends of the gradients delimit the bright region. The effect is obtained with both achromatic and chromatic gradients.
