Stress-annealing enabled a considerable improvement in the GMI effect in both Fe- and Co-rich glass-coated microwires. Additionally, a remarkable magnetic softening can be achieved in stress-annealed Fe-rich microwires.

Towards flexible asymmetric MSM structures using Si microwires through contact printing [PDF]
This paper presents development of flexible metal-semiconductor-metal devices using silicon (Si) microwires. Monocrystalline Si in the shape of microwires are used which are developed through standard photolithography and etching.

Glass coated microwires with enhanced coercivity
Abstract Glass coated Cu–Ni–Co microwires with a metallic nucleus 3 μm in diameter were prepared by the Taylor–Ulitovsky technique. The effects of heat treatments on the magnetic and structural properties were studied. At room temperature, the coercivity increases from 65 Oe in the as-prepared samples to 800 Oe after annealing the material at 973 K ...

Low temperature magnetic behaviour of glass-covered magnetic microwires with gradient nanocrystalline microstructure [PDF]
Slow nanocrystallization driving dynamics can be affected by the combination of two factors: sample residual stresses and sample geometry. This effect is evidenced at the initial stages of nanocrystallization of amorphous CoFeSiBCuNb magnetic microwires.

In this article, we studied the effect of annealing (600 °C for 1 h) and the applied magnetic field from 50 Oe to 20 kOe of Co2FeSi glass-coated microwires with ordered L21 structure prepared by Taylor–Ulitovsky technique on the magnetic behavior. The as-

Magneto-impedance of glass-coated Fe–Ni–Cu microwires [PDF]
The magneto-impedance (MI) of glass-coated Fe–Ni–Cu microwires was investigated for longitudinal radio-frequency (rf) currents up to a frequency of 200 MHz using a rf lock-in amplifier method. The MI, defined as ΔZ/Z=[Z(H)−Z(H=0.3 T)]/Z(H=0.3 T), displays a peak structure (negative MI) at zero field for rf currents with frequencies less than 20 MHz and

A domain wall creation paradigm: Realization for amorphous Fe-based microwires
The creation of a domain wall pair in the magnetic core of amorphous glass-coated bistable microwires with circular cross-section is studied. Energy balance is formulated in the spirit of particle decay, equalizing magnetic field work and energy of two ...
