Tuning metamaterials by using amorphous magnetic microwires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this work, we demonstrate theoretically and experimentally the possibility of tuning the electromagnetic properties of metamaterials with magnetic fields by incorporating amorphous magnetic microwires.

Bechgaard Salt‐Like Polymers and Their Applications in Organic Electronics

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The report presents a flexible conducting polymer micro‐wire grown from the vapor phase via an oxidative polymerization route. Electrical measurements show that the produced micro‐wires have relatively high conductivity and non‐linear electrical characteristics.

Angle Magnetization Rotation Method for Characterizing Co-Rich Amorphous Ferromagnetic Microwires

open access: yesActuators, 2021
A low-frequency model of the magnetization reversal of a microwire is developed for those cases when the microwire magnetization response can go beyond the linear approximation.

Subwavelength-diameter optical fibers for Brillouin scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
International audienceBy confining light into subwavelength-diameter tapered optical fibers, we demonstrated a new type of Brillouin light scattering from surface and hybrid acoustic waves.

Thin‐Wall Single‐Crystal Gold Nanoelectrodes toward Advanced Chemical Probing and Imaging

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We present a template‐assisted, non‐self‐limited polyol‐based growth strategy that realizes single‐crystalline, thin‐walled Au UMEs/NEs, as well as multifunctional probes, with high yield (>80%). The method provides precise control over electrode dimensions, from sub‐100 nm to micron‐scale radii and reliably produces long, continuous single‐crystal ...

Magnetoresistance in glass-coated Fe–Ni–Cu microwires [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 1999
Glass-coated Fe–Ni–Cu microwires were prepared by Taylor’s technique. X-ray diffraction data show patterns corresponding to fcc Cu. Negative magnetoresistance has been observed, which reaches 8.15% at 77 K and 6.35% at 300 K in magnetic field of 9.0 T. There is no significant difference between I⊥H and I∥H configurations.

Unveiling Complementary Unipolar Electrical Transport in ZnO‐Co3O4 Core–Shell Nanowires Exploiting Iontronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 5, 6 March 2026.
Complementary unipolar electrical transport is demonstrated in ZnO‐Co3O4 core–shell nanowires, by engineering multi‐terminal device architectures that allow to selectively address different sections of the nanostructure and resorting on ionic liquid gating for conformal capacitive coupling and field effect control.

Ultrathin Nanocrystalline Magnetic Wires

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
The magnetic characteristics of FINEMET type glass-coated nanowires and submicron wires are investigated by taking into account the structural evolution induced by specific annealing all the way from a fully amorphous state to a nanocrystalline structure.

Unveiling the Magnetic and Structural Properties of (X2YZ; X = Co and Ni, Y = Fe and Mn, and Z = Si) Full-Heusler Alloy Microwires with Fixed Geometrical Parameters

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
We studied Ni2FeSi-, Co2FeSi-, and Co2MnSi-based full-Heusler alloy glass-coated microwires with the same geometric parameters, i.e., fixed nucleus and total diameters, prepared using the Taylor–Ulitovsky method. The fabrication of X2YZ (X = Co and Ni, Y

Effects of bubbles on the electrochemical behavior of hydrogen-evolving Si microwire arrays oriented against gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The size-distribution, coverage, electrochemical impedance, and mass-transport properties of H₂ gas-bubble films were measured for both planar and microwire-array platinized n⁺-Si cathodes performing the hydrogen-evolution reaction in 0.50 M H₂SO₄ (aq ...
