Multifunctional Catechol‐Functionalized Cellulose Hydrogels for the Minimally Invasive Treatment of Acute Optic Nerve Injuries

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Catechol‐functionalized cellulose hydrogels are developed as injectable, bioadhesive platforms for retinal neuroprotection. The hydrogels exhibit tunable rheological and mechanical properties, strong tissue adhesion, and sustained antioxidative activity.

Engineered Microvascular Model of the Blood–Brain–Tumor Barrier Reveals Endothelial Remodeling in Diffuse Midline Glioma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a patient‐derived, functional microfluidic model of the diffuse midline glioma (DMG) blood–brain–tumor barrier (BBTB) comprised of endothelial cells, astrocytes, pericytes, and tumor cells. The system forms perfusable microvasculature, reveals the BBTB retains vascular integrity, identifies DMG‐specific transcriptomic changes distinct from

A Naphthalimide‐Based NIR‐Emissive AIE Photosensitizer for Synergistic Apoptosis/Ferroptosis‐Mediated Antitumor Therapy and Broad‐Spectrum Bacterial Inactivation With Rapid Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An ionic naphthalimide AIE photosensitizer (PS), TPAPV‐NIM‐M, anchors to cellular and bacterial membranes, emits in the far‐red/near‐infrared (NIR) region, and efficiently generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) under white light. Its membrane‐localized photodynamic action drives apoptosis/ferroptosis‐mediated tumor suppression and broad‐spectrum ...

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

Estimation of the glass transition temperature in metallic glasses

Materials Science & Engineering A: Structural Materials: Properties, Microstructure and Processing, 1996
Abstract An empirical linear relationship Tg = (0.56 ± 0.05)Tm has been established for metallic glasses. This relationship provides a reasonable estimate of the glass transition temperatue Tg for a metallic system whose melting temperature is known.

Universality of the glass transition temperature

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1994
Abstract A new relation between the glass transition temperature and material constants is presented. It shows a remarkable universality of the glass transition temperature, Tg, for very different types of structural glass. The independence of Fg from the microscopic structure is interpreted as a consequence of the cooperative nature of the glass ...

Glass Transition Temperature of Cyclic Stars

ACS Macro Letters, 2014
Cyclic homo- and diblock copolymers with different topologies were synthesized using a combination of "living" radical polymerization and "click" coupling reactions. The topologies included 2- and 3-arm stars, with the arms consisting of either cyclic or linear polystyrene.

The Glass Transition Temperature of Polymer Melts

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2005
We develop an analytic theory to estimate the glass transition temperature T(g) of polymer melts as a function of the relative rigidities of the chain backbone and side groups, the monomer structure, pressure, and polymer mass. Our computations are based on an extension of the semiempirical Lindemann criterion of melting to locate T(g) and on the use ...

Predicting the Thermodynamic Ideal Glass Transition Temperature in Glass-Forming Liquids [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2020
The Kauzmann temperature TK is a lower limit of glass transition temperature, and is known as the ideal thermodynamic glass transition temperature. A supercooled liquid will condense into glass before TK.
