A novel multiple cross‐linked betaine‐type amphiphilic polymer hydrogels are developed via in situ free radical copolymerization. The resultant formation, named P(SBMA‐co‐AANa) hydrogel, functions as a vitreous substitute and demonstrates superior performance in optical properties, support capacity, and biocompatibility on a vitrectomized rabbit model.

This study highlights the role of connexin43 (Cx43) in mediating glia activation and neuroinflammation in glaucoma. Using Cx43 knockout mice, it is shown that macroglial cells‐derived Cx43 modulates microglial activation, proliferation, migration, and polarization.

This study uncovers CHKA as a pivotal driver of vascular dysfunction in diabetic retinopathy and highlights its role in endothelial dysfunction through NAD⁺‐SIRT1‐Notch signaling. Single‐cell and functional analyses, combined with clinical and genetic validation, suggest CHKA as a promising therapeutic target for the prevention and treatment of ...

Episcleral Venous Pressure and the Ocular Hypotensive Effects of Topical and Intracameral Prostaglandin Analogs. [PDF]
There is a limit beyond which increasing either the concentration of a prostaglandin analog (PGA) or its dosing frequency fails to produce increases in ocular hypotensive efficacy with topical dosing.

Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV‐1) infection triggers metabolic reprogramming in corneal cells, shifting from mitochondrial respiration to aerobic glycolysis with marked upregulation of Hexokinase‐2 (HK2). This study identifies HK2 as a therapeutic target: inhibiting HK2 with lonidamine significantly reduces viral replication and promotes corneal ...

Macular Pigment and Visual Function in Patients With Glaucoma: The San Diego Macular Pigment Study. [PDF]
PurposeAlthough recent studies have shown that macular pigment (MP) is significantly lower in glaucoma patients, this relationship merits further investigation.MethodsThis cross-sectional study included 85 glaucoma patients and 22 controls.
