Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Lead-glazed ceramic fragments

open access: yes, 2023
Ceramic fragments from an excavation by Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe in 2014 around the deserted early medieval site of Brilon-Alme were subjected to archaeometric analysis. Except for one miniature object, they are coarse-grained tempered, and many of them are coated with a green-brownish glaze.

Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

Astrocytic Phenotypic Switching in Posterior Piriform Cortex Orchestrates Bone Cancer Pain–Depression Comorbidity via Purinergic–Noradrenergic Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone cancer pain and depression share a common origin: astrocytic A2‐to‐A1 transition in the posterior piriform cortex. This phenotypic shift disrupts the ATP–adenosine–A2AR–norepinephrine axis, simultaneously driving nociceptive and affective dysfunction.

Glomage: A Multimodal Platform for High‐Content Morphological and RNA Profiling of Glomeruli in Zebrafish and Mouse Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Understanding how glomeruli, the kidney's filtration units, function in intact tissue remains challenging. Glomage enables rapid 3D imaging and quantitative analysis of entire glomeruli from zebrafish larvae and mice. This approach allows scalable cell quantification and detection of structural changes, advancing kidney disease research and ...

Typology of glazed ceramics of the Kazan Khanate and analysis of its element composition

open access: yes, 2020
© The authors. Studying on archaeological material the history of the Kazan Kremlin which was included in the list of UNESCO in 2000 is an actual problem because of the limited written sources remained.
