Orbit Equivalence of Global Attractors for S1-Equivariant Parabolic Equations

open access: yes, 2012
nuloWe consider the global attractor Af for the semiflow generated by a scalar semilinear parabolic equation of the form ut = uxx + f(u, ux), defined on the circle, x 2 S1. Using a characterization of the period maps for planar Hamiltonian systems of the

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

Global attractors for a class of degenerate diffusion equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
In this paper we give two existence results for a class of degenerate diffusion equations with p-Laplacian. One is on a unique global strong solution, and the other is on a global attractor.

Sex Representation in US Stroke Clinical Trials: A Decade of Trends and Challenges

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stroke remains a major cause of disability and mortality in the US, with significant sex‐based disparities, and females remain underrepresented in stroke clinical trials. We aimed to examine sex representation in US‐based stroke clinical trials, identify trial characteristics associated with higher female enrollment (≥ 50%), and ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Global Attractors and Random Attractors of Reaction-Diffusion Systems

open access: yes, 2016
The dissertation studies about the existence of three different types of attractors of three multi-component reaction-diffusion systems. These reaction-diffusion systems play important role in both chemical kinetics and biological pattern formation in ...

COMPARISON BETWEEN TRAJECTORY AND GLOBAL ATTRACTORS FOR EVOLUTION SYSTEMS WITHOUT UNIQUENESS OF SOLUTIONS

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we make a thorough comparison between the theory of global attractors for multivalued semiflows and the theory of trajectory attractors, two methods which are useful for studying the asymptotic behavior of solution for equations without ...

Exponential attractors for a Cahn-Hilliard model in bounded domains with permeable walls

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2006
In a previous article [7], we proposed a model of phase separation in a binary mixture confined to a bounded region which may be contained within porous walls. The boundary conditions were derived from a mass conservation law and variational methods.
